Sonko threatens to ditch Azimio and support UDA.


Former Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has threatened to support Mombasa County UDA governor candidate Hassan Omar against Azimio la Umoja's Abdulswamad Nassir.

Sonko, who on July 28, 2022, lost his bid to be gazetted by IEBC to vie for the Mombasa governor seat, said Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo should be fielded as the alternative candidate failure to which he will support Omar.

Wiper party submitted a letter to IEBC nominating Mbogo as its gubernatorial candidate for Mombasa three weeks ago. In a twist, the Kalonzo Musyoka-led party named Sonko as Mbogo's deputy.
